BRITISH COINS. Aethelred II, Silver Penny, CRVX type (c.991-997), Southwark mint, moneyer Heawulf, draped bust left with sceptre, three pellet head, +ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGLOR, rev voided cross within linear circle, tiny pellet at centre, letters C R V X in each angle, +HEAPVLF M-O SVÐBY (BMC type IIIa; N 770; S 1148). A couple of peck marks each side, perforated in legend and on part of inner circle, toned, very fine.
