Bulgaria - Boris III (1918-1943), Uniface Reverse Tin Trial 2 Leva 1925 (Brussels mint) (Tin, 28.59 gr, 33 mm, 5.5 mm thick) cfr. KM 38. PCGS SP62

After the first minting in Brussels, Bulgaria had coins minted in various European mints (Paris, Berlin, Kremnitz, Vienna, Budapest, London and Birmingham), and on November 10, 1924, new specifications were drawn up with a view to minting 40 million pieces of 2 leva and of 70 million pieces of 1 lev.
The result of the request for quotation was that the Société Française de Monnayage from Poissy and the Brussels Mint were allowed to equally divide the order to mint the above-mentioned coins. The permission to mint the contingent allocated to the Brussels Mint was already given on 29 January 1925 by Georges Theunis, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
The stamping tool was manufactured by Alphonse Michaux, head of the Engraving Service, on the basis of the orignal dies supplied by Bulgaria. The author of these original dies is unknown.
The production started on January 31, 1925, and on March 7, 1925, the 20 million pieces of 2 leva could already be delivered. On May 25, 1925, the 35 million pieces of 1 lev followed.
