MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Antigonos I Monophthalmos, as Strategos of Asia, 320-306/5 B.C., or King, 306/5-301 B.C. AR Drachm, Lampsakos mint, ca. 310-301 B.C. NGC Ch VF.
Pr-1412. Struck in the name of Alexander III (the Great). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; monogram in outer left field; below throne, Ө below strut. An attractive example of an early posthumous issue, this piece provides a relatively strong strike and remains charming despite some time spent in circulation.

Estimate: $100 - $200
