Obverse: Laureate head right; Reverse: Napoleon, holding eagle-tipped scepter and in ceremonial robes, standing facing upon shield held by two marshals; open book to left, plow to right. Edge: Plain. Alluring gray surfaces, with a good deal of brilliance revealed in the fields when cradled back and forth. A minor and fairly typical die crack in the reverse field is noted merely for completeness.
