Obverse: Tetrastyle temple (Temple of Janus) with TEMPLVM JANI on architrave, triple-faced head of Janus atop, and doors broken (indicative of war); Reverse: Napoleon standing facing, head right, with arms outstretched, before two large piles of arms and armor. Edge: Plain. Deep brown surfaces, with a great deal of champagne brilliance in the fields when cradled back and forth.
