FRANCE. Robiac-Besseges Oval Bronze Mining Token, ND (ca. 1842-45). Paris Mint. NGC MS-64 Brown.
Dimensions:29mm x 19mm. Obverse: HOUILLERES / DE/ ROBIAC in three lines; Reverse: M. / BESSEGE / (GARD). Used as a form of token coinage in place of money for the mines in the area. Incredibly vibrant and attractive, with the brown surfaces actually yielding more of a violet-orange color, especially when cradled back and forth. Quite RARE this enticing.
