Traditionally, this issue is associated with the period of Pyrrhos (circa 280-275 BC). However, M. Spinelli, La monetazione di Locri Epizefiri, Pelorias 27 (2019), prefers to associate this type with the activities of king Agathocles of Syracuse in Southern-Italy (304-289 BC).
