SICILY. Atha.. or Athl... . Circa 344-339 BC. Hexas (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.56 g, 6 h). AΘA Head of Athena to right, wearing laureate and crested Attic helmet. Rev. Traditionally, the legend on these coins has been identified as AΘΛ, although it is now believed it should be read as AΘA.
The issues from this still unidentified mint of 'AΘA' were produced near the modern northwestern Sicilian city of Caccamo, often overstruck on Syracusan coins.
