MACEDON. Skione. Circa 490-480 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.64 g). Head of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. HGC 3.1, 685. SNG ANS - (Sciathae). Very rare, and toned. Slightly porous, otherwise, very fine.


Very rare early obol of Skione, from the same group as the equally rare tetrobols as Obolos 15, 24 May 2020, 103, previously attributed to Skiathai.
