KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. (Bronze, 16.5 mm, 3.84 g, 11 h), struck under Nikokreon in Cyprus, Salamis, circa 323-315. Macedonian shield with facing gorgoneion on boss. Rev. B A Macedonian helmet facing, caduceus to left. Liampi Series II, Group 6, 170-92. Price 3158. Wonderful untouched dark green glossy patina, and with a gorgoneion engraved in high relief. Good very fine.
