L. Livineius Regulus, 42 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.69 g, 12 h), brockage strike, Rome. Bare head of Livineius Regulus to right. Rev. Incuse of obverse. Probably Babelon (Livineia) 11. Crawford 494/28. Sydenham 1110, as it is the most common of Livineius' denarii types. Toned. Light corrosion on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.

The L. Livineius Regulus who struck this coin as moneyer is unknown to history. He may have been the son of the praetor L. Livineius Regulus whose portrait appears here and who alsso may have been a close friend of Cicero.
