IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI P P Radiate and draped bust of Trajan to right, seen in part from behind. Rev. SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS / S C The laureate emperor in military costume, holding a lowered lance in his left hand, is standing frontal between two almost identical trophies; Trajan is looking and decorating the left, while turning to the right. BMC 1052-4. Cohen 356. RIC 676. Strack 469. Woytek 586v. Interesting and scarce reverse. Circular discoloration behind the emperor's head and minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.


The two trophies on the reverse refer to Trajan's military campaigns in Dacia and Parthia.
