Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX Æ Trachy. Thessalonica, 1295-1320. Palaeologan monogram / Andronicus and Michael standing facing, holding lis-tipped staff between them, partially garbled legend around. DOC 780-3; Sear 2459. 2.56g, 27mm.

Good Very Fine; reverse in exceptional condition for the type, with fuller legend and clearer figures than any of the Dumbarton Oaks specimens and undoubtedly the best to come to auction than any of those recorded on CoinArchives. Very Rare.

From a private English collection.
