Zacos 2747; PBW s.v. Andronikos 20122 Seal 3054.
It is very likely that it is Andronikos Dukas Komnenos Palaiologos, who ruled under Emperor John III. Dukas Vatatzes (1222 - 1254) when Megas Domestikos was the extraordinarily successful army commander of the Empire of Nicaea. His son was the later Emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos (1259 - 1282 AD), who defeated the Latins and once again led the Byzantine Empire to its last heyday. For this identification see A.-K. Wassiliou-Seibt, Corpus of Byzantine Seals with Metric Legends part
