Isaac II Angelus (1185-1195 AD). EL Aspron Trachy (28-29 mm, 3.39 g), Constantinople.
Obv. The Virgin Mary, nimbate, enthroned facing, holding the nimbate head of the infant Christ.
Rev. Isaac standing facing, holding cruciform sceptre and akakia, being crowned by Archangel Michael; three pellets on Isaac's collar.

Well struck and unusually nice for this difficult issue. Extremely fine.
