British Honduras was renamed Belize in 1973, and the following year notes bearing the new country name were issued into circulation. They were identical in design to the previous issue, and the notes circulated alongside each other for the rest of the decade. The 1974 Belize issue is very scarce to downright rare, particularly so for the $10 and $20, the two highest denominations. An important opportunity for the British Commonwealth specialist.
