In 1980 the entire banknote series of Belize was updated for the first time in almost three decades. This is the $10 of that redesigned series, and it has turned out to be quite a scarce type. This is the only series of this design issued by the Monetary Authority of Belize as the next date (1983) was issued by the Central Bank of Belize. This is the highest grade of this type that we have handled to date, and it is surpassed in the PMG population report by just one finer example.
