The previous lot shows the colors of the 5 Pound note in issued form. This note is the same denomination, but displays "trial" coloration of deep blues. Eventually, purple was chosen, but this note is a snapshot of one of the many steps taken before a banknote is eventually printed and issued. PMG mentions "Previously mounted".
