The first series of Singapore featured banknotes up to the $10,000, but any above the $1,000 denomination are difficult to obtain, as their purchasing power at the time of issue prevented many from being saved. Issuance was limited to begin with, as just one prefix was issued (in addition to a replacement prefix). While this $500 does show some signs of circulation, its eye-appeal is excellent and most importantly, it features totally original paper. A pleasing alternative to a much more highly priced uncirculated example of this denomination.
