GAUL, Northwest. Carnutes. Circa 50-30 BC. Potin Unit (16mm, 3.71 g, 10h). Celticized head right / Wolf standing left. D&T 2608; Depeyrot, NC V, 111; CCCBM II –. VF, dark green patina. Rare.

Compared with the near ubiquitous horse, wolves are rarely seen on Gaulish coins. Depeyrot records only 41 specimens, most of which are in museums.
