Steatite cachet. Syria, Proto–Literate Period, circa 3500 BC. Oval cachet with central, bidirectional piercing. On face, four sets of V–chevrons stemming from central point and working to each corner. Four chevrons per grouping. Dimensions: 30x20mm. See Ashmolean II, pl. II, 30 for similar. Intact and in good condition.
