CARIA. Knidos. Circa 465-449 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 6.20 g, 9 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Κ-Ν-Ι Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing pearl necklace and with her hair falling down the back of her neck and tied at the end; all within incuse square. BMFA 1985-1986. Cahn 83 (V39/R58). SNG Copenhagen 242. Beautifully toned and of charming classical style. Light scratches and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
