Claudius, 41-54. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 27 mm, 12.88 g, 6 h), Rome, 41-42. TI•CLAVDIVS•CAESAR•AVG•P•M•TR•P•IMP Bare head of Claudius to left. Rev. CERES AVGVSTA / S C Ceres, veiled and draped, seated left on ornamented throne, holding two grain ears in her right hand and long torch in her left. BMC 136. Cohen 1. RIC 94. A beautiful piece with lovely orichalcum surfaces. Minor corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
