LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.87 g, 1 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, griffin springing right; below leaf, ΛY. HN Italy 1589. Johnston Class C, 6.2. Harshly cleaned, otherwise, extremely fine.
