LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 17 mm, 7.84 g, 2 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, griffin springing right; below leaf, [Λ]Y. HN Italy 1589. Johnston Class C, 6.16. A clear and attractive example. Harshly cleaned, otherwise, good very fine.
