IMP GALLIENVS AVG GER Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding shield on his left shoulder; shield decorated with trophy between two seated captives above wreath. Rev. ORIENS AVG Sol standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. Cohen -. MIR 1138w (2 examples). RIC -, cf. 496a (shield not described). Extremely rare and with a very impressive bust type. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with light porosity, otherwise, good very fine.
