Hyperpyron (Gold, 28 mm, 4.32 g, 6 h), Thessalonica, 1092-1118. +ΚЄ ROHΘЄI Christ, nimbate, seated facing on throne, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; in fields, IC - XC. Rev. A/ΛЄ/ZΙ/ω / ΔЄC/ΠΟ/Τ T/ω / KO/MNH/N/ω Alexius I standing facing, wearing crown, divitision and exagerrated jewelled chlamys, holding labarum in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left; in upper right field, manus Dei to left. SB 1924. Struck from slightly worn dies on a wavy flan and with a few scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
