Konstantinos Krateros, anthypatos patrikios, second half 11th century. Seal (Lead, 29 mm, 12.74 g, 12 h). Θ / ΔH/M,-T/PH/O, Saint Demetrios, standing facing, nimbate, holding spear in his right hand, and resting left hand on a shield. Rev. +KЄ R,Θ, / TⲰ CⲰ Δ૪, / KⲰN ANΘV/ΠAT, ΠΡI T, / KPATЄ/P, in six lines, decorations above and flanking last line. Stavrakos 135. A wonderful seal of the finest middle-Byzantine style. Struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
