UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Early 6th century. 1/4 Siliqua (Silver, 10 mm, 0.27 g, 6 h), perhaps Marseille (?). D N VA[...]CI[...]C Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Justinian I to right. Rev. Christogram within dotted circle. Apparently unpublished. Holed and with a part of the flan missing, otherwise, about very fine.

Ex Leu Web Auction 18, 19-21 December 2021, 4055.

This tiny coin is somewhat reminiscent of a bronze coin issued by the Ostrogoths in Marseille (Hahn, MIB3, pl. 55, N80) either attributed to Athalaric, or struck by the city of Marseille, depending on differing interpretations of the monogram on the reverse.
