ISLAMIC, Time of the Rashidun. Pseudo-Byzantine types. Fals (Bronze, 18x29 mm, 5.32 g, 6 h), imitating a 'Cyprus follis', uncertain mint, AH 15/16-23/4 = AD 637-643. Three imperial figures standing facing, each wearing crown surmounted by cross and holding cross in his right hand. Rev. Large M between A/N/N/Θ and X/Ч/II; above, blundered monogram; below, Γ; in exergue, KVΠP. H. Pottier, I. Schulze and W. Schulze: 'Pseudo-Byzantine Coinage...', in: RBN 154 (2008), pl. III, Class I.1a. An unusually well preserved example. Overstruck on a halved Byzantine follis, otherwise, good very fine.
