ISLAMIC, Fatimids. Uncertain, AH 400s / AD 1000s. 1/4 Dinar (Gold, 8 mm, 1.10 g, 6 h), likely a contemporary imitation, possibly Siqilliya (?). Album 710. Nicol 1285. With original suspension loop attached. Minor roughness, otherwise, very fine.


This odd coin comes with several spelling errors in the Kufig legend, particularly on the reverse, which includes the two-line legend usually associated with Al-Zahir without naming any ruler. It is likely a contemporary imitation with somewhat crude calligraphy, perhaps from Siqilliya (Sicily).
