Damma (Silver, 8 mm, 0.46 g, 7 h), struck in the name of the Ghaznavid Sultan Mahmud, uncertain mint in Multan, circa AD 1005/6-1010 or 1011-1030. 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad ist His Prophet, truly' in Arabic. Rev. 'Right hand of the State and Keeper of Faith, Mahmud ibn Nasir al-Din' in Arabic. Fishman & Todd, FG4. Rare. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
