Denar (Silver, 18.5 mm, 0.61 g, 10 h), struck in the name of king Heinrich III (1028-1056) or his son king Heinrich IV (1054-1105). ✠ HENRICVS RE Draped and crowned bust of Heinrich III or Heinrich IV facing. Rev. VVIIHEIHIVS Bare-headed and draped bust of bishop facing, head to right, holding crozier in his left hand; in field to right, cross. Dannenberg -, cf. 546 (for type with cross in left field). Ilisch 18.6. A nicely toned example. Struck from somewhat worn dies and with some scratches on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
