NORTHEAST GAUL. Ambiani. Late 2nd to mid 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 15 mm, 6.40 g, 12 h), 'statère biface au flan court' type. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Celticized horse galloping to right, horseman transformed into fibula-like figure; below, crescent above pellet. DT 159. LT 8603. The obverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, about very fine.
