KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.09 g, 12 h), Kyme, circa 215-200. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, one-handled jug above monogram. Price 1634. A splendid coin, boldly struck in high relief and of magnificent full Hellenistic style. Some minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
