KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.14 g, 6 h), Arados, struck under Menes or Laomedon, circa 324/3-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; below throne, monogram of AP. Price 3309. Harshly cleaned and with a scuff on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
