KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.19 g, 3 h), Babylon, 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, sickle above M; below throne, monogram. Price 3676. Perfectly centered and struck in high relief. Light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
