ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟϹ ΙΟΥΛΙΟϹ ΒΑϹΙΛΕΥϹ ϹΑΥΡΟΜΑΤΗϹ Sauromates I seated right on curule chair, holding scepter tipped with bust of Roman emperor in his left hand. Rev. ΤΕΙΜΑΙ ΒΑϹΙΛΕⲰϹ ϹΑΥΡΟΜΑΤΟΥ / Μ-Η (mark of value) Round shield with spear in centre; to left, helmet and sword in scabbard; to right, horse's head and axe. MacDonald 417. RPC III 840. Minor areas of weakness and with light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
