Domitian, 81-96. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 29 mm, 16.00 g, 6 h), Rome, 85. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XII CENS PER P P Radiate head of Domitian to right, wearing aegis on his left shoulder. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGVST / S - C Virtus standing front, head to right, holding spear in her right hand and parazonium in her left. BMC -, cf. 384 (AVGVSTI). Cohen -, cf. 648 (AVGVSTI). RIC -, cf. 484 (AVGVSTI). Very rare with this reverse legend. An attractive example with splendid green patina and a fine portrait. Some spots of corrosion, otherwise, good very fine.
