Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.35 g, 7 h), Rome, circa 125-126/7. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. COS III Neptune standing front, head to right, nude but for cloak hanging around his left leg, resting his left foot on prow, holding trident in his right hand and acrostolium in his left. BMC 349. Cohen 304 var. (no drapery). RIC 792. A beautifully toned example with a lovely reverse. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, about extremely fine.
