Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.48 g, 12 h), Rome, 200. ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. PONTIF T R P III Caracalla, as Sol, standing front, head to left and nude but for cloak, holding globe in his right hand and inverted spear in his left. BMC 179. Cohen 413. RIC 30a. Beautifully toned. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
