Caracalla, 198-217. Antoninianus (Silver, 23 mm, 4.87 g, 12 h), Rome, 216. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM Radiate and draped bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P XVIIII COS IIII P P Serapis standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding long scepter in his left. BMC 165. Cohen -, cf. 349 (bust draped and cuirassed). RIC 280d. An attractive piece with a particularly impressive portrait. Struck on a slightly irregular flan, otherwise, good extremely fine.
