Gordian III, 238-244. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 31 mm, 22.68 g, 1 h), Rome, 241-243. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. IOVI STATORI / S - C Jupiter standing front, head to right, holding long scepter in his right hand and thunderbolt with his left. Cohen 111. RIC 298a. A very attractive example with a beautiful brown patina. Minor deposits and with an edge crack, otherwise, good very fine.
