Philip I, 244-249. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 5.47 g, 7 h), Rome, 248. IMP PHILIPPVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. SAECVLARES AVGG / II She-wolf standing right, head turned back to left, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus. Cohen 177. RIC 16. A very rare and nicely toned variety, struck on an unusually heavy flan. Minor deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
