China Banque Industrielle de Chine, Shanghai 100 Dollars 1914 Pick S397Bs S/M#C254-5c Specimen PMG Choice About Unc 58. An impressive, large format high denomination type that is seldom available in any grade. Unconfirmed as an issued banknote and therefore extremely desirable as a Specimen, especially in such a pleasing grade. One red overprint and one perforated cancellation are present. The Banque Industrielle de Chine issued banknotes in China from 1914 until 1925. An unusually high percentage of notes were redeemed in 1921, when the bank required a bailout to resume operations. An important offering from this rare French issuer. Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson Company, this note is tied for the third highest grade of a mere five in the PMG Population Report, denoting the rarity of this note. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/china-banque-industrielle-de-chine-shanghai-100-dollars-1914-pick-s397bs-s-m-c254-5c-specimen-pmg-choice-about-un/a/4037-23333.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4037-07062022 HID08706262019 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
