Inscribed Silver Tea Pot with representation of Greyhound and Hare on lid, commissioned from J. Fisher Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, Cockspur Street, 1814, for Sir George Montgomery, generally fine, with original receipt of purchase.
The Teapot is sold with the original Bill of Sale from J.Fisher, dated August 1814. The inscription records a match between eight greyhounds belonging to Ordinary Members and eight from Honorary Members of the Mid Lothian Coursing Club at Arniston. The match was won by "Sweep", the property of Sir George Montgomery.
