George VI Proof Sixpence, 1947. Obverse: portrait by Humphrey Paget. Reverse: Crowned monongram 'GRI'. This expectionally rare proof coin was produced as a record of the change over from silver to cupro-nickel and is part of George VI's Second Coinage that was only produced for two years. These proofs are not recorded in Spink's Coins of England and are incredibly rare with mintage quantity believed to be in single figures.
