Three-coin Sovereign set marking the 500th anniversary of The Sovereign in 1989. Comprises a Two Pounds, Sovereign and Half-Sovereign struck to Proof standard. Obverse: a representation of Her Majesty The Queen sat in King Edward's Chair, as she did at her coronation, along with the legend 'ELIZABETH. II.DEI.GRA.REG.FID.DEF'. Reverse: a double rose with a shield of the Royal Arms and Royal Crown superimposed over and surrounded by the legend 'ANNIVERSARY OF THE GOLD SOVEREIGN 1489-1989'.
