PF64-66 UCAM | George VI (1936-52), gold 4-coin proof set, 1937, Coronation year, Five Pounds, Two Pounds, Sovereign and Half Sovereign, bare head left, HP raised below for designer Humphrey Paget, legend and outer border surrounding, GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue, edges plain, accompanied by original Royal Mint case with gold block crest and lettering (S.PS15). All coins are in exceptional condition with minimal hairline scratching, the Two Pounds some copper spotting on the obverse but does not detract from the eye appeal, all have been graded by NGC as follows: Five Pounds = PF65 CAMEO; Two Pounds = PF65 CAMEO; Sovereign = PF64 CAMEO; Half Sovereign = PF66 CAMEO.

NGC Certifications 6321111-001/2; 6321110-001/2.

Calendar Year Mintage 5,501 sets.

The Latin legend on obverse translates as "George the Sixth, by the grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."

These plain edge Proof coins were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI on the 12th of May 1937, with a mintage of 5,501 pieces, they were technically patterns as they did not have milled edges.
