(m.m.) : POSVI : DEVM : A DIVTORE ': MEVM, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 30.25g, 8h, m.m. tun (Lingford B-12 [cf. lot 34]; Rodney-Smith 23-26 same dies; North 1933; Spink 2478), the fields tooled in antiquity and the edges hammered from past mounting, the fabric otherwise stable with the traditional 'ping', darkly retoned, a scratch through date and other minor pecking, otherwise struck details pleasingly, a bolder very fine thus.
